The founders of HYDROPHIL, three friends Christoph, Sebastian and Wanja, come from the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. After more than a year of work and research, the Hamburgers have developed the great bamboo toothbrush. A toothbrush that helps to greatly reduce plastic consumption and make brushing your teeth as natural as possible.

HYDROPHIL=water-loving

HYDROPHIL means "water-loving" in Greek and that is exactly what the company philosophy of the three friends is all about. The idea for the toothbrushes was born during a late summer bike tour in Hamburg in 2013. The main topic was their blog about water, which they have been running since mid-2012. Once again, the topic was water scarcity. A discussion about whether it is possible to make products that are fairly traded, sustainable and vegan and are also produced in a water-neutral way.
Because we all need water to live. HYDROPHIL wants to use and pollute as little water as possible through its actions so that future generations can also benefit from this precious resource.

On average, around 240 million toothbrushes are used per year.

RECYCLED & RECYCLABLE

For the FIRE product series, old fire extinguishers and gas bottles are recycled. Waste products are converted into new, high-quality products. The reuse of what is already there reduces the production of new raw materials. The products can be broken down into their component parts for disposal and fed into the recycling cycle.
